Event Description
The Museum of Camping had an amazing pop-up exhibit and information session at the San Carlos Art & Wine Faire in October 2026. Hundreds of visitors enjoyed browsing vintage camping equipment from the Museum's sample collection. Campers young and less young were transported back to the turn of the last century to see images of national parks as Easterners would have seen them for the first time – in 3D with a stereoscope and stereograph. The 1978 Coleman Oasis cabin tent took over San Carlos Avenue. We enjoyed scores of interesting conversations about camping history, people sharing their own experiences visiting nature throughout their lives, and telling the community about the future of the Museum of Camping.
Every fall, the San Carlos Art & Wine Faire takes over downtown San Carlos, turning the streets into a lively open-air gallery. This was its 34th year. The festival features hundreds of fine arts and crafts booths, plus wine, craft beer, and food vendors, live music across multiple stages, and a Family Fun Zone for the kids.
See you next year.
